Improving Veterans and Children's Quality Of Life

Our Mission

Many Veterans and Underprivileged Children lack access to total vision care. Making it difficult for those with visual impairment to meet the general needs of living their life. Our mission is to deliver the highest level of care to our Veterans and young children in need. Our doctor provides compassionate and experienced care using advanced diagnostic equipment. Florida Vision Foundation can help make the change.

Children's Eye Health

It is sometimes difficult for parents to decide when their child needs a thorough eye exam.  Most pediatricians will perform an evaluation during a well-child visit.  But if there is a family history of eye problems, the child may need to be referred to an optometrist or an ophthalmologist for a comprehensive eye examination.  Even if there are no known risk factors or family history, it is recommended that children get their vision checked at 6 months of age, 3 years old, and before first grade.

A few signs that may help in determining if your child needs a more thorough eye exam include:

  • Complaints of problems seeing information on the chalkboard
  • Difficulty reading and writing
  • Blurry or double vision
  • Eye pain
  • Headaches
  • Takes more time to finish homework

Early detection and treatment is the key to providing your child with the best opportunity of having healthy eyes and good vision. If you have concerns about your child’s vision, call or make an appointment with the Florida Vision Foundation to schedule a complimentary eye exam for your infant or child.

Our Story

Our Founder, Keith Sutcliffe decided to start The Florida Vision Foundation in memory of his late son, Jeremy who has passed on. Keith’s son, Jeremy, was special needs and was born with a hole in his heart. Jeremy started wearing glasses from the time he was 6 months old. When Keith would bring his child to classes around other special needs children he started to notice the others with poorly made glasses, and always helped out those children in need. After his son's passing he felt the urge to start a foundation to help others, especially underprivileged children.
